Other IP Multicast protocols rely on certain routing protocols, such as Routing Information Protocol or Open Shortest Path First.

open shortest path first protocol (open shortest path first, ospf) is the most important one of the internal gateway protocol.

The OSPF open shortest path first refresh mechanism can cause periodic bursts of traffic on networks.

Routing tables are continuously built and rebuilt by intelligent discovery protocols, such as Routing Information Protocol or Open Shortest Path First.

the complex behavior of the open shortest path first ( ospf) algorithm was modeled using a stochastic petri net.
